The Mandala Family is Growing!

The Mandala Family is Growing!

Gosh its been a long time since I left a blog post here! We have pretty much upgraded everything at Mandala: the house, the gardens, the bathrooms, the kitchen and the olive press yoga shala have all been renovated and taken to the next level.... In addition to that

We’ve all had a crazy few years haven’t we?!

At Mandala we have been especially grateful to all of you who still found a way to travel and stay with us amidst all the uncertainty of late. Somehow we have stayed strong and we have soo much enjoyed our connection with you and all the other guests who have graced us with their presence since we opened in 2018.

This year looks set to be a year like no other for us as we have just welcomed the arrival of gorgeous little Angelina Ananda Heath born on January 22nd after a lightning fast 4 1/2 hour labour (phew!!). She was born into a water pool, on Corfu, in a cottage surrounded by loving friends. Rafael has been a dream big brother and we are all soo blissfully happy with her arrival.

(For those of you who stayed while I was pregnant and saw me staggering around like a zombie! I am much better now- and one look at Angelina and Rafael and I know it was all worth it :)

The growth of our family means big (hopefully temporary) changes to the way we will run things this year. Our new family of 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats (yes- we are like Noah’s ark and do everything in 2’s now!) is now too big to fit in one of our studios, so we have taken back the main house and will not be renting Shiva, Shakti, Aum or Gayatri for the foreseeable future this year.

Instead we are renting out Namaste and Laxmi Studios - see here to check out our lovely, spacious, self contained studios:

I hope to get back into teaching yoga and mantras later this year… and to maybe host some retreats…. But for now I stay in my baby bubble! This will probably happen later in the season :)

Our new vision includes the hopes that we can find another plot of land nearby to move our family home to (and all the chaos of our children and animals) and let Villa Mandala get back to doing what she does best:

Hosting amazing holidays and retreats for beautiful people like you.

We are very blessed to have some investment on the horizon that will hopefully allow us to bring all this into being later this year…. but in keeping with the theme of the last few years nothing is 100% certain. If you have ever dreamed of owning a place like mandala then feel free to get in touch…you never know!

We hope you have enjoyed this little update from our family and send you lots and lots of love,

Namaste,

Sacha, Ben, Rafael and Angelina

How things work in Corfu- Part 2: The Internet

Ben and I are used to having a strange internet connection. You can't really have a phone line on a cruising boat and all the metal boats are composed of tend to reflect signal. So over the years we've had various different internet devices ranging from dongles, to wifi repeaters, to mobile signal... most of them worked... a bit.... some of the time.  We made it work and got on with things as and when we could.     I was kind of looking forward to being in a house- a real house that could have a real, grown up, reliable internet connection, and as I am teaching singing to many of my students in London via Skype it is essential to my work. However it has not been a straightforward process!   I started looking into it the 2nd day we were here. Thankfully we brought a tablet from the uk that we can tether from and it hasn't been too bad for internet but in order to keep up coaching from the other side of Europe I need a really good internet connection. So I aske...

Summer of Love!

I have more to say then I could possibly recount in a simple blog post so this is a tricky one! I shall attempt to keep it brief and to keep my updates more frequent over the winter... I'm not promising anything though!    Wow- what a year. The summer flew past in a sunny whirlwind of activity. Ben and I both feel like we fell on our feet so many times since moving here. In short we took a massive risk, leaving our beloved boat, our amazing community of friends and family, our beautiful jobs and lives in Hampton for a mad, somewhat out of the blue and decidedly risky plan to move to Corfu, start work on a house that we didn't even own and try to integrate our selves in to new work and social lives.   All I can say is that the risks all paid off- a million times over. We bought the house of our dreams and many friends old and new stayed with us this summer. We have met people from all over the world and shared our house with artists, T.V  presenters, healers,...
